For the first time ever, Malta has taken role from 1st January 2017 to 30th June 2017 !
Malta is therefore participating with its two other partners, the Netherlands and Slovakia, in the establishment of the Council’s program between January 2016 and June 2017. This year, 6 main objectives have been chosen: security, the single market, maritime sector, Europe’s neighbourhood, the social inclusion and migration. The Malta Presidency on the EU Council in 2017 offers a special opportunity to highlight the Maltese islands, which is why they work with different partners. Indeed, Maltese companies were invited to contribute to the Presidency by donating goods, services or financial resources. Finally, for the Council configuration, experts from several fields are invited, for example in agriculture, economic and financial, education or environment.
